Contributor

The first processing of UWS was started by a working student for CC-SE in september 2005. The Competence Center for Software Engineering (see CC-SE homepage for further information) is an independent part of the university of applied sciences in Regensburg (Germany) which cooperates with several local and world wide acting companies.

Technical applications and systems use meanwhile extensive information systems. That applies in the vehicle price increase just like in the building management, the control and monitoring of technical plants or the semiconductor manufacturing. Software engineering - from the program specification to start-up, care and advancement of the systems - is a question of the productivity in addition the software quality. The integration of technical applications to integrated operational information systems is necessary in many cases, in order to get data for the operating control and monitoring from production. In these systems, the logistics components have direct influence on production. Technical applications and systems today make extensive use of information systems. That is true with vehicle control systems as well in facility management, the control and monitoring of technical plants and in semiconductor manufacturing.

The application of modern methods of software engineering from the program specification to initial operation, support and improvement of the systems is a question of productivity, as well as software quality.

The integration of technical applications to integrated in-house information systems in many cases a requirement, in order to win data for the controlling and monitoring of production. These Systems have - for example through logistic components - direct influence on production.

Goals

  • To get a good level of synergy and its benefits

  • To make an exchange of experience between Regensburg area's companies

  • To inforce the transfer of the technology from the university to the industry force

  • To give to the students the key qualifications needed by the enterprises and to feed the local companies with new qualified employees

An advisory counciler determines the tasks and the objectives of the group, which has as a source of knowledge the university's staff and the industrial partners involved.
